Interesting article about how the media has to legally continue to operate in a civil emergency:

Wonder what would happen if the power lines were down. Do the media legally have to have a generator backup? If i was a reporter i would want to take care of my family instead of going on the news.

While there's some petinent information in there, it's a dreadfully written article. Single sentences are acting as paragraphs all the way through to provide padding.

As well as being totally out of context, the comment about media etc being legally obligated to "continue operating" cuts what should have been a paragraph about Wellington airport in half.

My English is far from perfect, but this is appalling. These guys are supposed to be professional writers. Don't they have editors any more?

Back to the original point - I'm sure everyone that works through a large scale civil defence style emergency would rather be taking care of their family, but if everyone did that, nothing would get done.
