Just out of courtesy, I am letting everyone here know I have changed my user name (obviously) from TheBartender, to euanandrews.

I have done this as I had to many different user names on the various sites I use, obviously lacking an online identity that everyone recognizes.

Previously, I had at least the following:
Geekzone: TheBartender
Facebook: euanandrews
Qik: MobiKiwi
Trademe: BetaGuy
Twitter: NZeeter
Nokia sites: KiwiN97
That's just off the top of my head of the sites I frequent most often...

Now, every site in that list, I have the user name euanandrews

Took a while to convince Trademe to make the change, but they did eventually.
Geekzone was instant, excellent MF, Micky at nokiausers has just made the change for me, no issues there either...
And both Qik and Twitter required no process or requests, its an easy change as long as the user name is available, so no dramas.

So now, Bartender, you have the 'Bartender' name to yourself bud, no more confusion.

Hey mate,

Good to know otherwise I would've thought your account was hacked, haha.

Far out, keep that profile photo on for a while - we cannot handle two changes at once:)

How did you get TM to change your username???

They changed mine WAY back in the day, no problems, I just emailled and asked and they did it. But a while back (last 6 months), I asked them to change my username, and to cut a long story short, they said once you create a TM account, its the only one your allowed during your lifetime, and username changes are not allowed except where username is your real name and you want to change it away to something else. So they disabled my account (at my request in order to create another username), then said sorry you can't do that so now you are off TM for life, so I had to beg them to reactivate my account. Then they still wouldn't change my username.

I don't really understand the drama and why they won't do it, on Ebay one can change their username every 30 days, which I did from my old name to newer one.

I know some names are not forever though - someone registered "geekzone" on Trade Me and I asked them to work with the user to change the name. We agreed it wouldn't make it any good for someone selling electronic goods on Trade Me using our name. Certainly a different case though, but every rule will have an exception.

That's pretty much what I had to go through, but obviously I had better success...

When I first asked to change it from BetaGuy to euanandrews, my request was declined as they stated usernames could only be changed once, from a real name to an alias, and thats it...

So I asked again, and stated the reason why I wanted the user name change, and also stated that if Trademe would not change my user name, that I would simply then delete my account and create a new one, with my desired user name...

Trademe replied they would make an exception for me, and change my user name, but to another alias only...

So I emailed Trademe again and explained again why I wanted the user name euanandrews, being the same user name I am using everywhere...

I also noted that I had little Trademe history, had no auctions running at that point in time, and that changing my user name to the same as my real name is actually better for people to instantly recognise me, which is better for the Trademe trust system...

The final response I got from Trademe was they would make the user name change for me.

So it took a couple emails and explaining, but I got there in the end.
