Dont know of any directly myself in town, but be wary of the clubs discipline etc.

I used to do kempo when I was a kid and something that was drilled into us time and time again was "defend 3x then attack once" - now that same group enforce "attack 3x then defend 1x" - which IMHO is just asking for people to get into trouble.

i was actually thinking of joining a group which teaches Kenpo !! have seen some online reviews of it as well and it looks pretty cool and modern. the only one which i could find is in Mt Albert which is bit out of way for me.

I have been training in Seido Karate for about 6 months now in Wellington and am really enjoying it. It takes 18 months of training before sparring to ensure that everyone knows basic techniques and control. Their are two dojos in Auckland (Davenport and Morningside) and the Davenport club has a good reputation. Check out http://www.seidoauckland.org.nz/
