Hi guys... it's taken me a while but I've finally got myself an artist profile.

I've played in bands in the past and had stuff recorded but this is my first 100% solo effort.

I started off by covering the Doctor Who theme (heavy metal style, of course) just to get the ball rolling. Figured there's probably a fan or two of the show around here so I thought I'd share this with you all.

Enjoy... and turn it up!

As a fan of metal and Doctor Who I liked it...

The myspace link seems to have some problem at the moment though.

Thanks mate.

Yeah I was re-uploading the myspace track as I'd accidentally clipped a bit off the end. It's all good now.

Throughly enjoyable. Fits in quite well with my current "Symphonic Metal" phase ;-)

Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiice. What bands have you been listening to lately?

I did actually toy with the idea of putting some a string section in there and maybe some brass, just to make it more cinematic & dramatic but decided to leave it just sounding like a "band".

Thinking about doing a more "extreme" version (think Dimmu Borgir covering it with more double-kick work, an orchestra and blast-beats).

Well, it recently re-started with Christmas Eve Sarajevo 24/12, because I was IM'ing a lady from that area of the world. So Christmas Eve was from Trans-Siberian Orchestra, who were previously Savatage. Slightly differing styles, but enjoyed listening to both. Even Beethovens Last Night ! Then last.fm bought up Apocalyptica as a similar artist. Apocalyptica does Metallica on cellos ? Awesome, I'm hooked :-) Harmageddon is awesome too !.
And I have always thoroughly enjoyed Metallica's S&M album. Once every couple of months I terrorise my fellow car commuters with S&M - they just can't figure it out - Metal with Orchestra ! With the full "onst - onst" subbies kicking out !
Deep Purple have had a couple of goes with this style, but it was early days and didn't quite blend. ELO, as the name implies, was also into an orchestral style, but that was more pop. OK, but not emphatic enough.

Finally got around to listening to this. Sounds great - I look forward to hearing more! What else have you got in the pipeline?

@septicsceptic you should try and track down a copy of Kiss Symphony. Doing what they do accompanied by a full 60 piece orchestra is a spectacle and a half...

Stuff I have in the pipeline varies, and I may put it out there under a different alias. Got some nasty Grindcore in the works but some stoner rock & doom metal brewing too.

I quit gigging a while ago and I'm really enjoying this "doing it at my own pace" thing at home.

I love how these guys did it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=joEAb_y7ZYA

Usually they'd just to the orchestra on keyboards but they got a real one in for this album. Just sounds massive. Not a fan of all their stuff but the above track just KICKS.
