Apparently the power is off in a number of places north of Huntly, good night for a BBQ?

I left work just as the email arrived from Transpower advising all retailers of the grid emergency.. oh well I'm sure the guys at work will keep all the auckland customers up to date :-)

There was a high KV line fire over some trees over a farm in Tamihere which is south of Hamilton.. The farmer was on Campbell Live advising that he told Transpower of the possibility of fire if the cable starts to sag.. he said Transpower was dismissive of his concerns.. Transpower said that the farmer has made access difficult and today is no exception..

Check out Campbell Live online. Very interesting.

@DJShadow Yeps if it's as good as last week, expect some more outages and faults. I love watching the rain and lightning!

Most likely that if you're in the affected area and your power is still on and you have ripple controled hot water, then its most likely the ripple has been turned off. Which is usually turned off at this time as it's general peak time, but with today's emergency, likely to be off for much longer than usual.
