I'm trying to figure out the best places to buy some camera gear - seems to be einfo.co.nz or electron-world.com

The last time i bought 2 mobile phones from einfo.co.nz the boxes were opened. When i asked them why they said it's because of customs who opened them. A bit suspiscious. Having said that, nothing wrong with the phones. Was rather obvious the stuff inside had been gently handled though.

Any thoughts?

Customs do tend to open boxes, so if the item was dropshipped from overseas that would actually be quite understandable. However, if they shipped it domestically then that excuse is out the window.

Considering the size of their store, I would assume they don't actually carry stock, and they quite possibly dropship.

Mine had been opened so they could supply an extremely cheap and nasty power plug adapter.

sorry for the lateness was away attending a course

- if they dropship they really shouldnt put shipping 2-3 days with courier. by golly it's been 3 days since i've paid and there's still no activity on the shipping part.
- ok so i bought a camera and a lense. they better be untouched! and better be shipped soon!

well they're still the cheapest in the country but a country mile. eg the highly regarded fuji f70exr is $350 on their site. in harvey norman it's $699! i see HN now has a promotion for $499. but i'm going for a canon instead. ahh how i wish i knew some overseas suppliers!
