Just saw an interesting segment on TV1 for jimmyclick. It was being marketed as 'free' photograph printing. It was interesting to note they kept saying about printing digital photos being 'expensive'. This is nonsense since there are stores now that print via the kiosks for as little as 12cents.

The crux of the offer is, they place advertising around your printed photo. The advertising can be torn off (they're perforated for removal).

Just interested in other peoples comments. No affiliation with them. Would you be prepared to have to glance at advertising around your memories or fork out for 12 cents per print?

I'm of the same thinking. Theres also something about sending my photos to an overseas server which I'm not too keen on (something they highlighted on tv.. perhaps to their detriment).

the hassle of removing perforated ads from all my photos is not worth a 12c saving to me.

I have better things to do with my time.

Those kiosks are not always the best quality. I'd take it to a photo shop everytime. I only print photos when I have an actual use for them, so quality is important. It's usually more expensive but they take more care and the result is better.

Edit: So, maybe I would use this service if I wanted some photos I didn't care about but I'd probably use a kiosk in that instance too. The results are instant and you don't risk your photos being "stolen" if that's even a real possibilty (or just my paranoid privacy fears). I will probably give them a go though and see what it's like.

Yeah, and how many times have you been tearing off something that had these 'microperforations' and you ended up tearing the whole thing in half!

Now maybe if they PAID ME 12c then I'd consider it!

I just print photos off on the inkjet when needed or go to the warehouse and pay the 28c or whatever it costs. Not seen them at 12c anywhere other than the ones where you have to wait, and really, who wants to wait.

Definitely 12c. A no-brainier for me.

Not only is is about the perforated edges, but you would have to wait longer for them to be sent to you as well, and i'm not a man of patience. =P
