there is this asterix * underneath the record company name. what is the asterix * for?

number 10 doesn't have the asterix.

Just having a quick look, it appears to be the catalogue number. Why most of the singles don't have cat nos, I do not know. Possibly most of them are not retail singles?

The only get the number if they make an actual disc, which they seldom do now except for promotional junk like the help the charity of the moment songs etc.

And IMO you are still better off pirating and donating then making the record companies richer off the scam that is fundraising albums. Guess we will never see mainstream media cover that ripoff since they are so cozy to the music industry.
