Greetings my Geekzone peeps \o *wave*

I need your guys help. I'm wanting to confirm on what date the new Doctor Who 2010 series starring Matt Smith will be airing on free to air television in NZ.

I have a few friends that would like to know. Unfortunately they don't have ready access to a computer or a DVD player so downloading them and burning them to disc isn't an option right now. That and I do believe discussions of that sort of nature are against this website's terms of use (the posting of links to sites from where to download it not the discussion it self of course).

Now I've run a few google searchs myself and as of right now my Google-Fu is failing me.

All I can find is an article on stuff.co.nz saying that "Doctor Who is shown in NZ on Prime TV'

Can't find anything on Prime's website neither their facebook page. I'm posting something on their FB wall now.

I found this confirming that the End of Time the last episode just before the current season was aired on prime on the 7th February 2010 and part two will follow on Saturday 14th February

I know it's going to be showing on Prime @ at some point as I have watched the new Doctor who 2010 series trailer on there but all that said was "Coming Soon"

I would really love to devote more time to this search but I'm currently running out of time before I need to get going to work. I'm working Noise Control on Saturday night tonight so I don't think i'll get time to do any odd searchs on this tonight :(

EDIT : Oh wow Geekzone's funny spacing bug when posting from Safari has been fixed Thanks admins :)

PS I likes the new forum / posting pages. They R Shiney.

Try emailing Prime (address is on their website) - they have been quite good in responding to programming questions I've had in the past.

While the SkyWatch magazine can only be considered a rough guide (quite often wrong by the time it reaches the letterbox due to 'programming changes'), there is no sign of the 5th DW series in the Prime listings.  I would expect the new series to be highlighted (hopefully in the May issue).

If Prime follows it's normal way you won't see it here until it finishes in the UK which could be a couple of months away as it only started last week plus a couple of months for the NZ lag.

We'll likely end up getting it AFTER the USA does (like usual). They're about 2 weeks behind the UK (first episode screens 17th April, or at least is available on iTunes 17th April) and we averaged about 3 weeks behind the US for End of Time and Waters of Mars, so if we're really lucky, we might see it start by the end of May.

Actually, it looks like not long now - I just caught a Doctor Who Season 5 ad on The Box (that ad has to be the newest program on the channel) and it's saying it starts "Soon".

I haven't been overly impress with the new series. It seems to be aimed at 14 year olds.. hence most likely the 5.30pm time slot in the UK..

Hmmm, Doctor Who has always been a kids/family show.

I was a fan when I was five. At 32 years old, I still am.

Dr Who generally airs around 6:20-6:40pm on a Saturday Evening in the UK which is a pretty prime slot.
