When did Harvey Norman finally get a decent site running ?

http://www.harveynorman.co.nz

Makes it easier to see what they have on offer now rather than having to fight for parking at the Wairau Park branch.

Far out, good job HN, finally!!! That definitely owns JBs site, but I still really like the Dick Smith site

I only use the HN site for finding directions because it was just like a Briscoes mailer without the pricing before, but this changes it :) Will definitely hit here a bit more often

Not sure when it happened either, but my wife is currently looking for a new fridge and she said she might look at the Harvey Norman website to see what their range was like; I told her not to bother as the site was appalling and had no product info at all.

I ended up looking like a dork

Well it's about time...

The last time I had a discussion with a HN sales rep about their website (or lack off), he suggested it was purposely lacking so to encourage people to come into the store rather than browse a site...

My view is, if I cannot do the research on the site first, compare products and prices, I wont even bother going into the store.

Now they have a decent site, I can view their products properly, compare prices and specs etc...I may see something I like or a good deal and will make the trip into HN.

The site is an improvement but their search still sucks.

I searched for "cordless phone" and the first result was a travel adaptor followed by a list of cell phones, useless! Searching for "PS3 remote" was even worse!

The same searches on the Dick Smith site gave me exactly what I wanted.

At HN if you pay the sticker price you are a mug. I have brought many items from them but unless the item was already discounted I have never paid full price.
