The Great Bean twittered that the ISS etc will be visible [from Wellington] this Sunday evening.

Here is an example Ground Track Plot for a specific ground location (you can enter your own location)

Correct... A friend of mine has been following satellites for ages and gave me this tip - both the ISS and Shuttle will be visible from Wellington Sunday evening (18th April 2010 from 18:50) crossing the sky just below the Southern Cross. Here are two images to help you get some orientation (as usual click for larger versions):

There is a pass from 19:14 on Mon 19 Apr 2010 NZST which on paper appears brighter, and higher in the sky.

No, but I believe separation is scheduled for a little before 01:00 Sun 18 Apr 2010 NZST, so to see them before that, one would need to try the passes starting (Wellington) 18:27 & 20:01 Sat 17 Apr 2010 NZST not Sun.
