I know it's nothing to do with IT but I really want to know if I can get it for my girlfriend, she's embrassed about getting it. I am an adult(22 years old).
No pharmacy is open at the moment, so i can't ring and ask about it. I really want to know it now..
Thanks guys.

Don't think men can as the emergency pill is not put on shelves. From what I know one has to consult with a pharmacist prior to being handed out some.

Seriously, it is not hard to stay safe and avoid such problems in the first place. Anyway!

Get your girlfriend to contact family planning.

No you cant buy it on her behalf. It is an OTC (over the counter) drug requiring a pharmacist to give it. There is nothing stopping you going in there with her to offer support. She may be embarrassed but the repercussions of not taking care of it are massive.

And if you are that embarrassed when they ask what happened - and they legally will have to, state "the condom broke" ..

Also don't panic about the pharmacy being closed. The "morning after pill" is still effective up to 3 to 5 days later.

Go to an after hours clinic.... not going is far far x 10000 times worse than actually going! Make sure your g/f understands this.

If they ask what happened, you should start with: "When a man and a woman love each other very much..."

Wow, what good advice.  It's just great that you felt you were able to offer such words of wisdom given your broad knowledge of the OP, his gf and the context in which he asked for help.  I'm sure the OP and his gf are really grateful to you and feel they've learned a real lesson from you.  I don't know about everyone else, but i for one feel sure they won't now be so silly in the future.

If you did read what I wrote above that comment you will realise I did help in providing an answer.  What you have done is mis-quote my quote in full context.

It's also helpful to let others know - whoever reads this in the future - that such things can be avoided with the right planning.

Edit: I did write:

"Don't think men can as the emergency pill is not put on shelves. From what I know one has to consult with a pharmacist prior to being handed out some."

Next time, if you would like to attack my comments, at least take the time to read the entire post in context and don't let a storm in a tea cup get out of control.

Sorry, heavenlywild, but I have to agree with the previous poster. Regardless of whether you offered any practical advice or not, suggesting that the situation should have been prevented is fine to do outside of a crisis situation, but totally inappropriate in this particular discussion.

Anyway that's just my opinion.

There's hope for us all - a geek amongst us that has had "relations"

I reckon there's enough of us here with kids that we believe are our own, that we could safely assume that there are a good many of us that have "relations' at least once avery few years! ;)
