Monaco Corp are the NZ distributor for Toshiba and Pioneer TV's amongst other things.
About three years ago I purchased a 37" Toshiba LCD TV. Around 2 months ago, well outside the manufacturers warranty , I noticed a shadow on the right hand side of the screen about 20cm long.
I contacted them directly and they referred me to the local service agent.
There was a bit of communication then between the service agent and Monaco which ended up taking about a month. The service agent came and picked up the TV the other day and ran some final tests as per Monaco's instructions.
I got a call this morning saying I could go to a local retailer and select a new TV of similar spec at no cost to myself. Picked a Samung 40" LCD full HD so ended up with an upgrade out of it as there are not a lot of 37" models around nowadays.
Great to see them stand behind their product and come to the party when something went wrong and meet their obligations under the CGA. I was really suprised they didn't even insist on me selecting another Toshiba or Pioneer although I'm not sure if they are still importing Toshiba LCd's, I haven't seen any for a while in the stores.
