Has anyone here worked at Mc Donalds in New Zealand? My cousin is coming here from america where he works at Mc Donalds as a runner where he packs the meals and takes them to the front counter. Apart from management, drive through, and front counter, what other jobs are available at Mc Donalds in New Zealand?

I worked at Maccas years ago and there were plenty of options. In the kitchen you could be cooking the food, assembling burgers or preparing the fries. You've also got customer facing roles such as cashier, or support. Otherwise, you could work on maintenance (early starts, more cleaning based than maintaining) or serve in the restaurant, clearing spills and wiping tales. If your cousin has experience (and a valid work permit) then he shouldn't have too much difficulty finding a job.

Would he be interested in a job anywhere else? I'm sure GZ would be willing to help.

yeah i looked at that but all it says is

The back area is where all the action happens. You’ll be part of the team preparing our full menu range of products, making sure that every item meets our high quality standards.

My cousin is not a chef so he can't prepare food. Not sure if the back area roles allow people to only cook or fry the already prepared food the chef made.

can you explain more of what the following roles are about:

cooking the food: just frying and putting already prepared food into the oven? no chopping vegetables right?

preparing the fries: is this a seperate role? is this just frying them and taking them out?
