Ha ha. Reminds of when Voda's website went off the air on the day 2 degrees launched.

Looks like all the over-spending at ACC has meant that there are no off-hours tech around :P

Epic. The main page error is being served by Apache/2.2 behind Squid, at least something is up. It's not as bad as the Work and Income website which generates 500 "Internal Server Errors" at a drop of a hat, and still does to this day.

Intentional maybe? ACC doesn't want to spend more since they are over budget, and WINZ doesn't want people visiting their site for info, apart from the jobs page which is hosted on a different server. Hmmm the NZ Government is interesting.

They have also lost a lot of money in their NZ investments. Looks like their cost cutting even extends to their website. That is terrible for their website to be down for so long.

I'm assuming it's because ACC doesn't really care as long as the EMG is still up and running (which it is) as that's where all the hospitals and GPs send their claims to. As long as it's working for them, does it really matter whether the public propaganda is online?

Welcome to the public sector. No accountability at all. "We'll get it fixed Monday" I think is their attitude, maybe?!

Thats what lack of competition does. They are basically a monopoly,so if their website is down, it is not as though you can chose to go to another provider.

Welllllll they probably don't see the website as much of a loss, you know how much they love their paperwork.

Claims aren't lodged via the website.  They're lodged via a seperate secure interface.  Their website being down doesn't result in any more paperwork than normal.
