Is this really a news worthy story? theres 1 minute of my life I'll never get back, not to mention the 3minutes its taken me to discuss it on geekzone.

Subway management has told stores nationwide to use less cucumber until supplies are restored.

Six-inch subs will now get two slices of cucumber instead of three, and foot-longs will get four instead of six.

This is more worthy of Target - they could setup hidden cameras in Subway stores and then rate them. "Very sloppy applying of the cucumber, and our expert says there should only be 2 slices, and not the 3. What were they thinking? They respond..."

Perhaps they'll take a lead from courier companies and instead of a fuel surcharge add a "cucumber price index" into their pricing.

I have to laugh when people say things as benign as cucumber are "disgusting" and long for their eradication

How on earth do you deal with things that actually have a strong flavour?
