hi peoples :D

i bought an xbox 360 console.
my TV is absolute rubbish CRT 19 inch! it has the AV inputs to play the xbox fine.

however id prefer it to be played on my HD computer monitor. (so i can see what im actually playing)!!

i have a LG flatron w2253TQ monitor. it has a VGA input and a DVI input.
my graphics card is 2x ati 5770HD

my graphics card has an HMDI port in it and the usual VGA and DVI.

any ideas on how i can play my xbox pro on my computer screen???
im guessing ill need a AV to vga adaptor, or an hdmi to vga adaptor.

thanks for your help, look forward to your replies.

help :D
crt tv does NO justice for an xbox at 19 inch screen

thnx

Hmm, didn't see the bit about no HDMI port :( whoops

Cheapest bet would be DVI-HDMI adapter + HDMI cable for Xbox to monitor
DVI-VGA adapter and VGA cable

That would be correct :) just like the cable Billgates has put up, then you'd have your PC going to the VGA port, which I think you'll need a DVI-VGA converter for? Unless your card has VGA out?  Most cards come with free DVI to VGA

ohhh vinnie! now i understand your point :D
yes i got one of those for free with my graphics cards :D
sweet. thanks very much for your help.

now i know how to hook it up, ill just buy the cable/adapter Billgates has referenced.

funny thing was, when you said this " That would be correct :) just like the cable Billgates has put "

i thought you were taking a crack at bill gates (who owns microsoft) LOL!

my xbox came with xbox live silver, ill see whats its like and probably get a gold 1 year
:D

i reckon pc plays games better..quality wise. i bought a console because all the direct console ports to pc are rubbish! also some games (halo , forza) i cant stay away from, and pc doesnt support the titles.

thanks very much for all your help (both u guys)

respect

for audio buy this. plug your x530's 3.5mm cable into the 3.5mm female port in the link below and rca cable (white + red) from xbox 360 into 2 female rca ends in the link below. what needs to be done is that you will also need to use the supplied av cable that came with the xbox 360 only to output audio in this case. so you use the hdmi port on the 360 as well the av port on the 360 but you do not plug the yellow av cable anywhere.
