Call me old school: I don't text. If I want to talk to someone, I'll talk to them.

seems an odd promotion. I thought 2Degrees were all about talking, not texting.

Still, a nice way for 2 degrees to get some SMS termination revenue though at 9c per txt :D

That's actually a good point, since txt's from their own network don't count.

thinking about it a little more, this seems like a very good way for 2D to generate good termination revenue.

Telecom has 2500 txts for $12 ($9 if you get bonus topup)

a 2 degrees employee could buy a telecom prepaid sim ($30), topup $20 (recieveing $25 credit), and for two months buy a 2500 txt plan.  They then send all 2500 txts to a 2degrees number (some kind of bulk SMS).  this generates 2500 x $0.09 = $225 of termination revenue for 2 degrees, and they only have to spend $50 to get it.

(likewise Telecom get only $50 of revenue, but incur $225 of costs)

Am I missing something here or is that just insane?
