I recon you already heard of it, but I have a need to discuss this with you: Google phone calls ...for some strange reason I got annoyed with this, I mean- yeah we know that you own half of the cyber space and that you're the next generation's Microsoft and whatnot... when I saw it my brain just couldn't help itself trying to "digest" that info and remembering the big Google Wave frenzy and how it was ooh-oh so innovative and whatnot... on the other note, I'm a bit sick and tired of people having the need to always be able to contact each other and always be available for other people, or people expecting others to be available for them... it's tiring...

...maybe I'm just wining about it for no particular reason but sometimes I miss the old school e-mail only communication... nowadays there are "invisible", "hide" and "ignore" options... I mean, what's the freaking point of being available if you're going to hide... ffs... pardon my French...

...oh, I'm just annoyed... that's all :D ...how about you?

Google have been creating some amazing services and technology that we can all use for free and it's paid for by advertising revenue.

That surely has to be almost perfect from any user's point of view.

The guys who founded it were well aware of how corproations usually behave and wanted only to follow one simple ruling idea: "Do no evil".

I think they have come very, very close to living that dream.

Long may it remain so.

As for being available all the time...that's up to each person. You can stick to email-only if you like. I try out the new stuff and keep using what is personally useful. Google Wave was not.

As far as the Google Gmail "Voice Chat" and "Google Voice" are concerned, I'm very happy with it. Being able to call friends and family in Canada for free on their home phones is great. More goodness from Google.

@cgrew, oh no... I'm really not thinking and talking about any conspiracy or whatnot... I love google's inovative side but too much is too much and it's just annoying

@Linuxluver, thank you for the history lesson...
I see that you're very passionate about google and I can understand where are you coming from from the technological point of view but the issue I'm addressing is more of a social problem...
You will agree that even if you don't like using something that everyone else is, you'll realize that what you are doing and the way you're doing it is obsolete so even if you don't like something you'll start using it just because of the factor of the mass... that's what I'm talking about.
There are already too many similar things, for instance skype that provide services of that kind... it's not a goodness of the google's heart is about market and making money, I realize that and I hope you realize it too... What I was trying to say is that it's starting to become very annoying what they're doing...
