Cant believe the price of them to buy, so I am guessing that somewhere someone is making compatible or refill ones for a sane price, not found any yet.

I got my machine for $15 after rebate, which had a full tape in it. I suspect they are like inkjets where you get an almost free unit, and they make their money on selling you the tapes for a huge fee. They aren't chipped, so I guess that clones could be made for them.

Got one too... Sitting im cupboard and hasn't been used much, due to the cost of tapes.

I got mine with flybuys because it was all I could get with the expiring points that I actually would have a use for....

Someone on trademe has tapes for $21 each for 8 meters, but thats still too much IMO. Was hoping that there was some china/HK deal extreme equivalent with them for the $4-5 that they should be.

We bought a bunch for $5 from kmart a while ago on clearance. Didn't realise it was such a score. Would have got more if I had realised.

My views (except when I am looking out their windows) are not those of my employer.
