Hi all,

Looking at changing a relatives address from NZ Wireless/GASP to regular broadband through the phonelines. THe house is about 60 years old, and the copper phone wiring somewhere between 40 - 50 years old (at a guess).

The line going to the house has recently been replaced within the last 5 years by Telecom.

Is the age of the wiring going to have much of an impact on speeds, and if so, would paying whatever new ISP we choose for the 'wiring option' help at all?

Cheers,

T

Hi Torque I presume they are in Wellington, yes old wiring of that age can have an impact, give me a PM, I can do a keen price to look and sort wiring compard to the ISP wiring option price.

Cheers
Cyril

Had Cyril around this morning, did a bang up job! And cheaper than what it would have cost for Telecom/another ISP tech!

Also found a long deceased rat in my roof.
