How can I search up expired listings that closed several months ago? Google used to be really good, but just lately I've been finding it all but useless. Maybe the changed something in the search engine, or maybe TradeMe have been purging their archives?

My reason for wanting to search old listings is that I once saw an Onkyo TX-NR1000 and DV-PS1000 listed together and I've been kicking myself for not buying them ever since. I just have a faint hope that if I find the listing I might be able to track down the seller and see if they still have them...

{MOD EDIT : SP : We call companies by their proper names here, consider this a warning}

Search under TradeMe?

Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

It's likely they don't search back older than 60 days as that's when listing details expire

In the good old days you could search all the way back, but I guess at some point the massive amount of data storage required became unpractical.

I see recently they made some changes so that now the "questions and answers" disappear so one can't search a closed auction/s hoping to find contact details. I used to do this a bit, not to deal outside TM, but to contact someone who is a "once a week" emailer, or to ask for a relist when they have no current listings.

You can still go back all the way, the other day i was bored so i URL hacked until i found the very first item listed on trade me - turns out it was a bee gees record :)

i did also stumble upon an expired search tool that was built into trade me, but i can't find it anymore and im not sure how i got to it in the first place.
