My company looks like sending me to CPIT to do an E.A.S. Course (Electrical Appliance Serviceman).

Im not a electrician and although I have been pulling apart and rebuilding computers for the best part of 15 years i haven't really done anything in the electrical field as yet, but have always wanted to.

What i am after is someone who knows what is involved in this course or who has done it, and can point me towards some online info that may give me a heads up in the course.

If I'm honest, I'm probably not the sharpest tool in the shed (nor the bluntest!) but haven't been to school in over 30 years so i want to learn as much as I can before I get there, if you know what i mean.

If anyone can point me towards some stuff I can learn that will help me i would appreciate it greatly.

Cheers

I have no idea what an appliance course should cover, apart from the obvious safety and practical things, but the tutor at the CPIT place might be able to point you in the direction of some study resources.

Time to find a new industry!

Can't be that hard it's only Polytech.

I recently fixed our dishwasher, it's not really that different to a PC as everything was separated into modules and you just replaced the faulty module.
