There isn't one. The noise is treated as a noise control job.

The rules around Guy Fawkes just relate to the sale of them.

I think it depends on your local council. Speak to them.

Why don't you man up and go talk to your neighbour and ask them to keep it down with the Fireworks. Seriously why do people call noise control when you can just go ask the person. If they are a dick and keep doing it then call noise control or make annoying noises in their direction.

We tried that. Our neighbour basically told us to f off and that they owned the street. They went on to say that if we didn't like it then move away and they had friends who would be very happy to buy our house.

Weve still got people in our area letting them off at all hours of the night..... its bloody annoying especially when you have a 3yr old who hates fireworks and cries everytime she hears them nearby. :(

Guy Fawkes and New Years should be the only time to let them off but some people have no consideration for others unfortunately.

If youve already asked the people to stop and they wont, then noise control is the next stop........

Hey guys it's Christmas time? Some people like to 'stock-pile' their fireworks for the occasion..

Surely there's nothing wrong with this? Maybe every night of the week is a bit excessive but if it were me, I'd just enjoy the show :)

During Guy Fawkes we let some off, but not too late at night as there are a few families with young kids next to our house.  It all comes down to how considerate your neighbours are.

Asking people in the area to not do it so late at night might be an idea, but it depends on the type of people and how they take it.  Some might get upset and it could cause you more greif (they let them off just to annoy you) but others might be fine and only do it on weekends or something.

Your local council will be able to help with queries about noise levels and fire bans, best bet is to speak with them for advise.

Actually not sure which neighbour is doing this.  Usually, it is just after 10.30pm and they let off a few bangers.

Making noises in their direction is immature and not something I'd do.

Sometimes wakes up the baby though. Not funny putting a grumpy 2 year old back to sleep.

I doubt noise control can deal with this either -the noise will have stopped by the time they make it to whoever is doing this.

So, nothing we can really do about this. Will just have to wait until they run out. Last few days have been quiet due to the rain .

IMO about time all public sale of fireworks were banned. Nothing like they use to be anyway. $50 later a bit of fizzle and it's all over.

Lazy is such an ugly word, I prefer to call it selective participation

Some neighbours you just can't approach, especially one of ours which wouldn't hesitate to :

a) Violence
b) Make more noise
c) Block driveways
d) Leave building rubbish in your garden i.e. old toilets
e) Fill your recycling bin with packing materials

and many more fun things :)

Noise control is great because he doesn't know who complained so no vengence war paths from him :/ Especailly the 60+ year olds that live near him.

As a side note noise control is useless since the Auckland city merger, being put on hold, wait an hour comments etc. :)
