So what other hobbies/interests do geeks do when not playing around with tech stuff?
And Merry Xmas to you all.

Astrophotography, but that probably counts as "playing around with tech stuff" ;-)

I play guitar a lot, since I was about 12, so nearly 20 years :)

Still, I should be a lot better than I am for playing that long!

building stuff from wood (aka lego for grownups)

I find there are very few activities as satisfying as using power tools or bashing the crap out of something with a hammer (or even better, a sledgehamer), so I take every opportunity to do it whenever I can.

Rebuilding cars.

Currently in the early stages of transplanting a 5litre V8 into my 1996 Commodore (V6)

Mountain biking - however that has taken a back seat lately due to car work

I like riding my motorcycle (Yamaha XJR1200). Playing golf and dabbleing in amateur radio.

I've been involved in target pistol shooting for many years. Have been on the executive of the Wellington Pistol Club for about the last 10 years and put together a website (just using Apple's iWeb application) for the club. We attract quite a few techy people as visitors to the club, and quite a few have become members. We've hosted a group of 'LAN party' participants at our club so they can try out some firearms that aren't virtual.
I think we've got 5 club members now who have iPhones and a guy who has written us a score keeping PC programme....so it seems a bit of a crossover hobby.
