Been doing some workinthe garden recently, and the end result is that I have about 1m^3 (maybe more) of earth that I do not want.  I can't hide it anywhere in the garden or use it for growing anything since it is very thick clay.

What is the easiest way to get rid of it?  sell on trademe?   dump it in the countryside somewhere?

Put it on TnE or trademe. People are always wanting dirt, especially clean fill. So specify whats in it, ie clay/grass/weeds. Gorse? Logs? etc

Hang onto it for a little bit. Graves compact and settle after a short while. Some of the spare clay can be used to re-level the surface ;-)

If you're in Wellington dump it at my house, if it's just dirt without weeds or stuff. 1 cubic meter isn't worth selling.

If you find out where to get rid of it let me know.

Oh and a FYI for those who said grow stuff in it.  Clay isn't a good growing medium!

What farcus said, bury it. Lol

If you don't want to do that, just dump it at Weymouth beach. Its a dump already. Or take it out on a boat and drop it in the channel.

Been there recently! I took bad dirt to Metro Refuse but still $30 a tralier to dump as hardfill. I gave the rest (good dirt) to my ex so I suggest to ask friends and family if they want any.

Try and find out where the nearest cleanfill dump site is. Try your council - they might know.
