Facebook's default is to send email when people comment on your status update, or when other people comment on status updates you commented on. I turned that feature off months or years ago, and I haven't gotten those emails since then.

This morning they started again, for no reason. I haven't changed preferences, I don't even think I can from the iPhone facebook client. I wonder what other preferences they've reset... security ones maybe? I can't check until I get home this evening since I don't want to access facebook from work.

Has anyone else started getting the emails today?

Same here. I've just had to waste a couple of minutes de-selecting everything again although fortunately it doesn't appear to have affected my privacy settings.

I've noticed on an American blog that Facebook has reset all those options...

Way to go. And people trust them.

I can't work out which tick box to remove to not get emailed about people posting on my status updates, or when other people reply to status updates that I posted on. Anyone know? Notes and links I can see, but not sure which it is. I might deselect the lot.
