What a joke. Forget the roads this government needs to sort out the electricity infrastructure. There should be no single points of failure on the national grid. Obviously this will cost the country millions of dollars in lost productivity.

Look on the bright side you can still get broadband for $1 a day, you just can not use it.

I seem to recall, wellback in the dark past, that this was the plan after the last major power outage.

I reckon we should just leave Auckland with a 3rd world power network. Every time somebody wants to upgrade it the locals all complain..

I seem to remember that was the reason then Saturn couldn't get into Auckland either. All the locals complained about those 'unsightly wires'.

[pet peeve on] I still think Wellington could do with improving it's roads rather than giving the money to auckland. Anyone that lives in the Hutt knows what I'm talking about when you can just about guarantee there'll be a smash 9/10 times on a rainy day. Just about blocking access from Wellington to the Hutt.  [/pet peeve off]

Yep pretty bad in the CBD

Vodafone and Telecom mobile taking several attempts to connect due to cell overloading.

A lot of the cell sites had no backup power and looks if the main sites only had generator backup.

Not good for a city the size of Auckland.

No trains, no traffic lights what if a major disaster - dont move to Auckland!

At least I was sent home for the day a good thing and have power at home.
