I purchased an item from trademe last weekend, paid promptly and the money was received by the seller yesterday.

The seller sent the item through overnight courier yesterday, and it says "picked up" on my tracking thing..
If it's overnight... Arn't I supposd to receive the good this morning..?

I left the house at 8:30am because I had work.. But am constantly monitoring my tracking thing, and it still says Picked up on May 3 2011 5:27PM.

Static...

Plus, the trace number starts with "RO". Help anyone?

Courierpost T&T is a bit 'meh' in my view. Seems they only scan it when when it's first dropped in at the Post Shop, and then when they deilver it, but you've already got it by then.

If the sender paid for overnight you may still get it today (but if it's signature required and no-one is home they shouldn't leave the parcel, only a calling card.)

Did Eric Clapton really think she looked wonderful...or was it after the 15th outfit she tried on and he just wanted to get to the party and get a drink?

Service isn't guaranteed to be overnight, that is just the target delivery time.

If it wasn't picked up until 5:27pm there is a chance it would have missed the truck/plane.

I know locally if we don't get courierpost items to the post office by 3pm they aren't collected until the next day.

It's possible you may get the delivery later, just depends on how many shipments come in to your local depot during the day.

so much for my theory then of it only being scanned twice - maybe that's parcelpost - I'll crawl back under my rock now.

It quite often depends on the ticket type too.
Target delivery times for CourierPost are usually '9am next day' for businesses, and 'next day' for residential.
