It's not a good advert for it if it is getting overloaded and slow, or timing out. You would think they would have taken that into consideration and built in some redundancy. However it seems to load fine for me, perhaps a bit laggy.

Was timing out when I tried at work.  Now timing out here at home as well.

Would be jolly annoying if you're a paying subscriber trying to get an article.

Did Eric Clapton really think she looked wonderful...or was it after the 15th outfit she tried on and he just wanted to get to the party and get a drink?

It has been intermittant here as well.
They are extending the free-for-all for tomorrow as well because of this.

They probably didn't expect to get so many hits :D

What makes you say that? Loading here fine, albeit slowly.

Wow, the quality of the information on there really is atrocious. During a brief browse - which was extremely painful due to their heaving web server - I noticed that they have "FM radio" noted as one of the benefits of the iPhone 3GS and then "no FM radio" noted as one of the disadvantages of the same device, along with the blatantly misinformed implication that Sony NEX cameras use the proprietary Panasonic/Olympus Micro Four Thirds format.

Clearly the Consumers' Institute don't meet the same standards that they expect everyone else to uphold.

I thought the same, had to wonder if they'd actually tested the products themselves or just researched online.

The site is still timing out something chronic.

If their tech coverage is so poor, how do we know the quality of the other stuff we know less well ourselves?

www.whatsmynumber.org.nz has a calculator "provided by consumer powerswitch" which also times out or comes back with "Sorry, a lot of people are finding their number right now and it’s taking a while to get you an answer. Please take a look around the rest of the site and try again soon."

Companies really need to have their servers sorted before launching online/tv campaigns :-/

Managed to access the site with good performance at 5:45 this morning. Still going OK at the mo but starting to be a bit more laggy, although that could be due to the Internet connection here at work.

I have found Consumers "tests" of DSLR cameras to be quite laughable in the past. Hence I no longer subscribe and doubt their ability to review high-tech items.

It was working well at midnight, so the slow down is a load issue. During the evening it was unusable. If I was a paying customer I wouldn't be happy.
