Was just wondering who is better batman or superman? Batman has all his gadgets and martial arts but superman has all his powers yet superman was killed by kriptonite but batman only got a broken back vs bane. MMMM a conundrum eh any views?

Perhaps your preference for Batman is because he is "joe average", with a bit of spare cash, who after a few push ups and a traumatic childhood becomes a "super" hero.

Something far more appealing, attainable and desirable than finding out your real parents are dead and you're from another planet.

Personally I'll take Bruce Banner's alter-ego everytime.

The question is who is better - there is only one answer Superman (about to get kicked - ouch)

Batman is cool but a bullet to head and he dies - Superman catches bullets, he can actually see what's inside a bullet with his xray vision. He can fly faster than a bullet.

Also he has Lois - Batman has hmm.... let me see oh yeah Robin, now if that aint gay I dont know what is.

Christian Bale made a good Batman and no camp Robin! Not being able to stop a bullet with your eyeball does make Batman more real, more human.

And where is Superman going to get changed when all the phone boxes finally disappear? Superman is very low tech, no cool car, bat cave or utility belt. He is very non-geek!

Ok I wasn't going to go there but here it comes. Batman is screwed up. His parents get killed in front of him. He is driven by revenge which is a selfish act. He inherits a fortune so he has no sense of reality. Batman models his persona on a creature that in many cultures is considered evil - therefore he cannot appeal worldwide. Unlike Supes who uses his alter ego to blend within society, Batman's Bruce Wayne is aloof, rich and constantly in the public eye. Bruce Wayne has been known to criticize Batman which is a clear case of dillusional schizophrenia. And what's with Robin? What does a robin and a bat have in common? and if you are old enough to have seen the TV series there were many a time that Robin came to the rescue of Batman, Superman needs no such help.

Superman a non-geek? ha I scoff. Superman 1 (Christopher Reeves), did you not see his Fortress of Solitude

Batman is a far better developed character, and one who is finally getting the treatment he deserves. Any non-Nolan Batman films are crap, particularly in reference to his character and the themes established by the comics. For example, the Joker killing Batman's parents? Not in the comics. There, the Waynes were just killed by a random thug who got away, and was never caught. In that manner, they were killed by "crime" rather than an individual. If they're killed by someone who Batman can catch, then he can have closure. For the character to really make sense and persevere, closure is something he cannot ever have.

Just one question..

Can Superman be trained and pass the whole power to the next generation? I somehow don't think so. Obviously, batman can do that. "Batman: The Generation X"

But yeah! Hellboy is far better that those two.
