I don't really like Apple much and Steve Jobs much less. However they did make an impressive profit of some 7.3B this quarter. As I understand it, Steve Jobs is 68% owner of the shares, which means he pockets nearly 5B this quarter alone, but I see his net worth in 2011 according to Wikipedia is a mere 8B?

How does that work?

The margin was around 40% by the looks of it, which isn't over the top by any means.

he only pockets his share (whihc is much lower than 68%) if apple distribute profits to the shareholders via dividends.  which they don't.

Yep 40% gross margin is what was in the news article I read and thats pretty good. We make around that on selling hardware in our business. You then have to pay for the rest of the running costs of the company. You are lucky to make 10% on your money with that gross margin.
