I went to local jewelers and they ordered it in. Charged a small fee, insignificant to the value of transaction, perhaps $75?

DOesn't the NZ mint sell it? They do gold, so I thought they may do silver and titanium too.

I asked a ex-Jeweller friend of mine for you.

I'm not going to give any definitive place, my advice is ask around the places you find to get a company you feel confident dealing with.  A good starting point is a Yellow Pages search for 'Bullion Dealers'.

Reputable retail jewellers should also be able to help (try look for manufacturing jewellers instead of chain-store shops like Michael Hill).

I would suggest that you do talk to both NZ Mint (http://www.nzmint.com) & Morris and Watson (http://www.morrisandwatson.com) though, as they have both been around for 'a long time'.

I've got a feeling that nakedmolerat is perhaps referring to investing in silver (have a Google for 'JP Morgan Short Silver' and read of some of the articles about what some companies do in the silver markets).

(nakedmolerat: If I'm wrong, please enlighten us)

But if the O.P. is getting some Silver to turn into something else, you'd be out to buy silver no matter what (except perhaps cost).
