Just received my renewal notification from Tower today and it's gone up by 32% in one year!!!!
Is this about the same as what others are experiencing?

That's the problem, There doesn't seem to be any insurance companies taking new insurance in the Canterbury region at the moment, so I'm really stuck with whatever Tower decide is their new price...it's just that I choked a bit with 32%....I have never even made a claim on my house contents.

There's always the option of increasing your excess to reduce your premium. Chances are if you do that though you'll need to make a claim.
