Hi There!

I have just enjoyed one of the most enjoyable TV Pilots in my lifetime.

Sherlock Holmes is absolutely outstanding in every regard, I can't highly enough recommend it.

You mean Sherlock, the one with Martin Freeman in it? If so, agreed - it was a brilliant show.

All three episodes are excellent and they're making another series (The Hobbit notwithstanding) apparently.

Produced by Steven Moffat of Doctor Who fame.

I saw it when my aunty posted me the VHS tapes of it of course.

Very good episodes, and it was actually on TV One three months ago, for those who missed it - there goes the excuse of "those TV series are never released here"...

I have to say I was very impressed with TV One playing them in such a timely manner.
Kudos to TV One for that.

Sadly, few and far between though.

The Blu-ray/DVD was released almost immediately afterwards as well.
Perhaps there is pressure being put on NZ networks to buy series sooner rather than later in order to get the Blu-ray/DVD release out sooner?

Well, timely as in A WHOLE YEAR LATER.
(It first aired in July 2010..)

/devils advocate

It originally aired (overseas) in 2010 about 14 months ago.

Airing here 3 months ago is so late it's a non factor "given the internet".

I don't even remember what memes were around 14 months ago!

Oh wow. How wrong was I.

Ok, my original stance stands.
Studios need to get off their back sides and start providing legal alternatives for willing and paying customers, at least in NZ.
Cut out the archaic broadcast networks altogether.

/off topic rant ends

Something slightly more on topic, does anyone know if any further episodes have aired overseas yet?

The fact is the OP watched the programs three months after it was on TV... In that case you can hardly say the OP was in any hurry, so I think my comment stands.

Been meaning to catch up on this one. Moffat is a great writer. Doctor Who, 'nuff said. Coupling was really, really funny too.

My very metal Doctor Who theme
