Really enjoyed this article from Stuff.co.nz

Loved this quote "If you do come across what you suspect is a satellite piece, Nasa doesn't want you to pick it up. The space agency says there are no toxic chemicals present, but there could be sharp edges."

But then they say this " the heaviest pieces made of titanium, stainless steel or beryllium."

Last time I checked beryllium was toxic.

Also you are about 12,000 times more likely to get sconned by a sharp edged, beryllium coated piece of space junk, than winning powerball in lotto, according to  my maths.

I'm not worried though as I can't win a pub meat raffle with 100 tickets.

What happens if said sharp edge hit you in the head while falling down from space?

Hopefully the beryllium will ensure a quick death... before you can talk to a lawyer! Laughing

I Wonder how much a scrap metal place would pay for it?

Excellent idea, mind you if the stainless bits are big enough, and you can pry them out of Freitism's head and hose off the blood and beryllium, they could make great BBQ plates.

I have beefed up my tinfoil hat with a layer of impact-absorbing scrunched up Kleenex held down with duct tape. Since the whole family has the flu at the moment there's no shortage of raw material.

Bonus: no-one will try to steal my hat when it becomes clear that the end of the world is indeed upon us.
