Well I watched the second episode last night of the new season without Charlie Sheen... and the verdict is....

It's GOOD. It's going to take a little longer to continue to get into the rhythm but I found at least 4 times in 20 minutes I laughed out loud.

I like Ashton in this role, though again, it will take him some time to get to be part of the core of Two and a Half Men, but it can still happen.

So you illegally downloaded it then? [Internet Police hat on...he he]

Pleased to hear it's still worthy of watching. I quite like Ashton, he does some cool stuff. I can't wait until 2015 when we finally will get the chance to watch it (legally) in NZ with any luck.

Lazy is such an ugly word, I prefer to call it selective participation

Or he could have used Hulu...

Assumptions. It's the same when I tweet about a bad driver and people reply "driving and tweeting?" when I am either (a) passenger or (b) walking... Assumptions are bad!

Funny actually, I signed up for a VPN service so I could perhaps think about doing naughty stuff...
Then, I hit Hulu, and the need for me to perhaps think about doing naughty stuff seems to have dropped off. Imagine that, provide content in an up to date timely manner - who would have thunk it!

All - a far, far easier way to watch this is to tune into the Ausi channels (Nine, Gem, Go) which carry both the new season and the previous ones.  The first espisode of the new season was screened on the weekend (and even then I think it was a repeat of an ealier screening).

No need to waste bandwidth and risk torrent problems.

But oh year, this only works for those with DVB-S systems like HTPC etc.

A seedbox and Hulu and totally different and seperate services.  A seedbox is just a virtualised server to dump content on from torrent downloads which are then in turn downloaded to your PC.  Hulu is a streaming service over the Interwebs of TV shows direct from the studios.  Lets ignore the legalities of both as it has been discussed numerous times on geekzone ;-)

You DO need a VPN to access Hulu in NZ, but it does work well and there is a lot of content there.  Plus a VPN is often cheaper than a seedbox.  And the US based ads are quite funny.

Maybe one day the content gods will smile down on us in little old NZ and give us access to Hulu without having to fart around with VPN's or DNS services.  Then again I think there is more chance of Helen Clark getting voted in as PM in the up coming election....

The seedbox is in .lu so when I have the VPN up that is where my traffic exits from.

Seems a slow and expensive way to do it - why not just download from the seedbox using SFTP?  Then the data cannot be sniffed?  Or if you use HTTP it probably wont be scanned anyway (based on the comments from the MED that file sharing sites wont come under the new laws, which means HTTP should (I am not saying will be) safe, as they are primarily interested in P2P traffic.)

Seems like not until next year!

http://www.throng.co.nz/tvnz/tvnz-winning

Why oh why cannot we have schedules more like what is happening with the "X Factor" on TV3, where it screens here only hours after it shows in the US??!?!!?

I know for a fact that Two and Half Men (the latest season) screens in Ausi the same day as it does in the USA.

EDIT - changed link for a better quality one - also highlights the same issues I did!

Yeah. Streaming is the new bittorrent.  The new law doesn't cover it.
