I just got my tickets and sorted my plane ride over.. i have a smile ear to ear!!

Anyone else thinking about attending!

Looks as EPIC as can be!!!

Bands im estatic about seeing!  SYSTEM OF A DOWN, SLIPKNOT, Limp Bizkit, Marilyn Manson, Hole, Lamb Of God, Trivium, Alter Bridge Lostprophets, Cobra Starship, The Used, Coal Chamber, Hatebreed, CKY, Dragonforce, hell yeah..  and offspring if they are in fact  in the second announcement like predicted. apparently there are a few more major bands to be announced..

I will have to go through the complete list there are tons of other bands i have heard of but havn't actually listened too! I can't believe they have such a good line up, it makes the BDO look rather pants in comparison!

Yeah epic lineup way better than Big Day Out this year. A mate is getting me a ticket in the presale, not sure whether we're going to Brisbane or Sydney though.

Wow, some 90's nu-metal has-beens there!

I'd go if it was local, but certainly wouldn't travel for that.  Soundwave often has (and still does) have a truckload of bands I really like, but I just can't get into the festival thing - it always feels like a sampler-back of bands.

System of a Down, whilst usually pretty sloppy live, are a lot of fun to watch and I like their songs enough that I can forgive them being out of tune and messy.

Marilyn Manson would be cool to see, even if it's without the classic lineup. I was a big fan in the mid 90s and have a soft spot for the guy. AntiChrist Supestar was a near perfect album in my humble opinion.

I'm a big Sisters of Mercy fan, so naturally curious about that, even thought Eldritch treats it like a job he doesn't like much.

If I did go, curiosity would get the better of me and I'd check out Coal Chamber. Bit of a 2nd rate nu-metal act but they did have some okay tracks. Poor ol' Dez hasn't aged so well! Saw a recent pic and couldn't believe my eyes!

Devin Townsend - Now we're talking!!! That man is just WOW!  That's the act I'd be most excited about. Machine Head would be another big drawcard for me.

All in all, despite me not liking festivals, it's a pretty enticing lineup. Manson & Hole should do a duet, "I'm the only original member in my band left." Ha.

I think you'll find Twiggy is back in the band, no John 5 though (saw him with Rob Zombie this year at Soundwave, Joey Jordison on Drums, great live performance all round.)

This I rather want to see live, particularly if by some miracle Ihsahn was performing too, loving Juular off of Deconstruction.
Ihsahn performing live himself would have me there in a heartbeat too.
There is an off chance Devin will head to Auckland again for a solo show, he toured here for his Addicted Album, a friend went and said it was brilliant, If he played Auckland I'd fly up for just that quite happily.

Only chance I have of making Soundwave this year is if I fly to Perth for it.
I've seen Slipknot and Soad live, agreed on Sloppy but fun for Soad.

Fairly certain i'd skip the headliners for all the support bands, Machine Head, D.e.p, Steel Panther, Mastodon.
Lost Prophets put on a great live show.
Gojira, Kvelertak and Turisas would be must sees if I could swing it too.

Must say from the last two years Soundwave is a far better festival than Big day out in layout, organisation etc, only shame is the set times aren't what you would get seeing a headlining performance from the bands you want to see unless they are the major headliners. (Maiden played for 2 hours this year.)

I am jealous. IMO that is probably the best line-up for a music festival ever.
