I am trying to remember an obscure movie which I saw once perhaps 3 maybe 5 years ago, or less, probably not more, trouble is, I can remember so little about it, apart from a couple of fleeting fragments of plot.  Here's what I can remember, I think, but might be intermixed with other movies!  Can anybody suggest solutions to this conundrum?

I think it was set in a desert sort of place, or maybe a very grey town, or something.
I think it was something to do with limbo, purgatory that kind of thing
  People arrived on a bus
  They couldn't leave
The main character found a way out by, breaking through a wall, digging through it, a tunnel, something, into a country house, or kitchen, or bakery, something like that.
It had to be kept a secret that he was digging.
Eventually people found out I think.
There might have been some "bringing of the outside in", maybe was sneaking baked goods "down", damn I'm grasping here.

This might be the clincher, I think the character started digging out the wall because they could hear music through the wall.  Something about music.  Maybe there wasn't music in the place or something.

Crazy I know, but it's been doing my head in for ages trying to remember this damn movie.

I say write it down, add your own twist and sell it as a screenplay.

Sorry, I got nothing.

That sounds like the amazing Norwegian movie, The Bothersome Man.

Also known as "Den Brysomme Mannen."

Cool

One of those awesome gems I found at Alice in Videoland in the international section. Normally I do my research before hiring a DVD but in this case I was sold as soon as I picked it up. A rare gem. My kind of "funny", if that's the word for it.

I wonder, after reading this thread, how many copies are now winging their way to NZ via various downlading methods, as we speak?  Cool

That was one weird scary movie. Scandinavian dystopianism to the max.

Speaking of svedenborgian space, I watched Kingdom Hospital a while back - produced by Steven King, with Lars Von Trier as executive producer. Nice attempt to bring Scandanavian dystopianism to an American context. I heard that LVT did not have an active role in production, but watching the series it sure seemed like it.
