Can anyone recommend a good mechanic based on the North Shore ?

Im fed up with these "big name" "trustworthy" stores that do the work at top dollar, and then pretty much refuse to accept any disputes about the work done because they cant replicate the issue in 2 minutes......

Had some shock work done recently, a 2nd hand part was used, and now Im 90% sure that part has failed (probably out of "warranty" period now as well) and Im back where I started, but the mechanic in question wont accept that its that part at fault - think theyre just too lazy to take the shock off again and check the part on the chance that Im correct and they cant get any money outta me....

Rather just find someone who will lsiten to what I have to say and give me a reasonably honest opinion...

"Roy" at Birkdale Motors. It's down behind the Caltex at the Birkdale / Beach Haven Rd roundabout.

I've been taking our two cars there for almost 4 years.  I couldn't be happier. He regularly gets great reviews on "No Cowboys".

Archers Automotive, on you guessed it Archers road.............

Absolutely fantastic company with nice itemised receipts.  When I first moved to Auckland gearbox started going on the car after only just being fixed 6 months prior by another company so I was a little aggravated, Archers fixed it and it was never a problem again.  Been using them for regular servicing of our cars ever since; Maybe 6 years or so?

If only they serviced motorbikes!

I've used Michies on Como Street... they laugh at me because I have an Alfa.

I take that as a good sign.
