How do you tell someone that they smell bad ?

I currently cannot enter the kitchen on the floor I'm on due to a small group who absolutely reek of B.O. :-(  It's like a wave of unpleasantness wafting after them when they go by.

Any tips on politely pointing out that showering/bathing EVERY day is a requirement for most adults ?

Been there done this before. Worked out fine.

"Dude, you smell bad. Lynx will have the ladies crawling all over you. Get some."

Your mileage may vary.

They've moved on now ... but I'm tempted to disinfect with petrol and a match!  ;-)

In this case it depends how the OP will feel about the smell of body odor + the smell of lynx, everywhere. tough choice.

So it's not an ongoing problem? If it is you need to make them aware.

No it's on going .. started this morning (and yesterday, and last week) when they had the "morning gathering", but almost feeling ill about it now when it happens.

Main issue is that I think it's a cultural thing (since it's a group gatehring of all the same culture) and if I say something I'll be "that racist b'stard who sits by the kitchen!" .. added to that I'm just the visitor to this building and will (hopefully) gone in a few weeks ... just a few weeks of snorting bleach I guess.

Good idea. A large informational poster perhaps:

I didn't make that, just linked to it.

But seriously, if you are in shared uni accommodation or something like that, there is probably someone you can discuss the issue with who can have a quiet word with them to diplomatically say there have been issues without revealing the source.
