I can't understand how some people can't just learn their activities are not welcome by a normal society...

Hes not actually in NZ now (as far as I know) .. doing all the spamming from overseas but using NZ services (nz domain names, phone numbers, addresses etc)

It was reported he had injunction sending spam to .nz domain names but I couldn't find the actual court documents or when the court case was etc

Got them as well, to an email address that we used to have on our website, but hasn't been there for more than 10 years.

Forwarded to DIA.

Actually, just to address this - it isn't against the registration agreement for any TLDs I know of (except maybe .name) - role based registrations are extremely common and recommended for organisational registrations.

For .nz domain names it is..

the Rules are they have to be registered  to identifiable individuals or companies. Network Administrator doesn't cover this!

Just got a bunch of them at work - They are all to email addresses that arent regularly used - 'ie aliases' that arent used so send email.

They have come from Getthematesrate.com - which isnt really even a proper website - just a crappy one page statement.

It does say this though:

Email Campaigns
You will be added to Getthematesrate.com's email campaign list only if you register to receive email via a form on the Getthematesrate.com website or
one of our partners' website. You may opt-out of receiving our newsletters by clicking on the opt-out link included in every email campaign we send.

I have opted out - wonder if that will work...

You shouldn't have to opt out as you never opted in in the 1st place.

report to www.antispam.govt.nz  !!
