Just sharing this as I love these kind of stories and figure I am not the only one....

Nokia's Great Lost PlatformCould've been a contender...

A decade ago, Nokia developed an advanced software platform light years ahead of the competition, only to neglect it, and eventually abandon it. The platform would have allowed Nokia to bring more sophisticated devices to market more quickly, and the company may have avoided much of the difficulty that enveloped its software development. The story is a microcosm of issues that enveloped Nokia, and the mobile industry, in the past decade.

Symbian is dead! Long live Symbian!

KNEEL, WORM!!!

//Used to have a Communicator 9210. Ah... those were the days. Downloading email over 9600bps circuit switched while internationally roaming in the UK at $7/min or whatever ridiculous rate it was at the time. 7 way conference calls using GSM multi-party calling with the SUPERB speaker-phone with participants from Sydney, Bristol, Auckland & Kuala Lumpur, also while internationally roaming.

$1500/month average bills for Salty. Within 3 months of starting that job Telstra sent me a letter giving me my own personal customer care phone number which would be instantly answered any time of the day or night.

These comments are my own and do not represent the opinions of 2degrees.
