It's that time of the year again. Let's start sharing a list of the coolest places to check out Christmas lights.
Let me start off with the most obvious

Franklin Road, Auckland City
Honeysuckle Lane, Mairangi Bay, Auckland

minigopher17: Go to http://www.lightupchristmas.co.nz - that has a list of Christmas light displays throughout the country. The site is now in its third Christmas (about 200 lights listed last year).
(Shameless plug, as I am the developer of the website.)
jofizz: For west aucklanders, there's one house in Rua Rd / Croyden Rd (street changes name in the middle) that is beyond over the top, totally off the chain with many many thousands of lights. Have not seen for myself whether he has done it again this year.

There is also a house down Beach Road in Te Atatu Peninsula that has a very spectacular garden display, including one of those musical shows with lights and music synchronized by computer. The garden is open to the public for a gold coin donation (with proceeds going to charity). Heres a video that someone took from last years display.
