Hey, myself and some friends are driving down to the Foo Fighters concert next week, from Whangarei, at Western Springs.
Anybody got some tips on the best place to park?
Also do you think it would be best to take the new motorway over to the north-western or just go over the bridge?

What time do you think you'll arrive? If you're getting there early you should be able to get a park not too far a walk from the entrance.

I don't know where the new motorway you're talking about is. Do you mean 18 out to Westgate? If so, then I wouldn't bother going that way. If it's something else I'm not aware of then maybe (e.g. SH16 might be a viable alternative).

I live on the Shore, but I'd never drive out to the NW to get to Western Springs. You could get off just after the Bridge and mission the back way along Jervois/West End Road. Could be parking opportunities along there too.

We want to get there by the time the gates open at 4:30pm. Some of us have to work for half a day :(
Yes it is the motorway out to Westgate from the Upper Habour Highway turn off I was meaning but you reckon just going over the bridge might be best?

I would recommend taking the new upper harbour motorway, (ie exit SH1 at Upper Harbour Drive, then follow the signs), this will put you onto SH16 which takes you to Western Springs.  In terms of parking, I live about 1.5km walk from the stadium and our street can get parked out during Western Springs events.  So the earlier you get there the better.
