JB HI-FI are once again having one of their cost + Gst sales, a few exclusions listed down the bottom, you will find a lot of stuff already has slim margins, but this could help people with Christmas shopping, I imagine the stores will be crazy busy though. You need to find a sales assistant to re-price things usually for you at these events and it can be a tough time tracking one down.

JB :
Get in quick before xmas & take advantage of Cost + GST on products storewide*. It’s happening Wednesday 14th December 2011 from 6pm to 9pm In Stores Only. Stores close at 5.30pm & re-open at 6pm.
This is a ONE NIGHT ONLY opportunity to take advantage of huge savings off JB’s famous low ticket prices!

*Excludes Apple, Soniq, Alienware, iPads, outright mobile phone sales, gift cards, iTunes Cards, all gaming cards, mobile phone top ups, warranties, delivery & installation.

It says your NEED a flyer although I went to one earlier this year when they said you needed one too and they never looked at it, but better to be safe than sorry!

Good luck with Christmas shopping everyone!

Cost + GST though could be more than you get at other retailers. Do your research before thinking that the price will definitely be the lowest.

+1

Thanks for the heads up, but good advice from mattwnz.  Been to these things before at other electrical retailers and invariably found the deals nothing more than you could get at any other day of the week.  I think they rely on people getting lost in the hype.  May be some deals to be had but pays to keep your common sense hat on.

Lazy is such an ugly word, I prefer to call it selective participation

Good advice I agree, usually when shopping at tech stores I whip pricespy up on my phone to quickly check pricing. I plan to go in tomorrow anyway and see if what I want will be much cheaper if they will tell me! Will save me dealing with the crowds if what I want isn't discounted.

Will be interesting to see what cost price is for their hard drives now, I presume their system will have updated to post flood cost pricing!

The links I posted above are safe, although there is a scam going around and JB Hi-FI have acknowledged there is a scam on their official facebook page, I posted the link to their website as well to verify the details.

Dick Smith have also had issues with a similar scam, over the past week. If it's too good to be true (Such as 200,000 free vouchers being offered), it most probably is!

It's amazing in this day and age that people still click on these, surely they realise that JB or other companies aren't going to give away 100,000 vouchers, imagine the cost!

I would like to have that much faith in people, but i know quite a few who have been scammed by the old "your computer is broken we can fix it in exchange for you bank account details" over the phone. So clicking  a link for free money honestly doesn't surprise me.

You're out of luck there:

Excludes Apple, Soniq, Alienware, iPads, outright mobile phone sales , gift cards, iTunes Cards, all gaming cards, mobile phone top ups, warranties, delivery & installation.

On the bottom of the flyer: http://www.jbhifi.co.nz/ccs/ exclusions are listed.

Prices are actually pretty good at the moment, went down to check out the stock and was able to get the (claimed) same price I would have if I went back after 6 tonight on a new 7.2 HT amp.

i picked up a couple of canon mg5350 printers for about $160 each in the cost+ sale. their current special price of $188 is cheaper than my wholesale buy price from several distributors, so at $160 they were a steal. ink refills normally priced at $30 to go with it cost about $20.

disappontingly, an xbox game on special for $59 was only going to drop to $54 at cost+

Harvey Normans also have a 3 hour sale tomorrow, I believe between 6pm and 9pm. Wonder if they will have anything decent on sale.
