I was reading the post on the world's first hard drive and a reply mentioned the Commodore VIC 20. Thought I'd start a new thread for others to reminice.
I had a Vic 20 when I was a teenager growing up in Canada over 20 years ago. I belonged to a VIC 20 users group too. The coolest thing was when my cousins showed me how to copy a cartridge game rom to tape using the 8k expander! Those were the early days of pirated games weren't they? The 8k expander was cool for young geeks because in order to play the copied rom on tape you had to open the 8k cartridge an flip a dip switch! far out. The 3k super expander cartridge was great for graphics. We mad a home movie in the late 80's and used it to make the opening credits.
Of course, I envied my cousins who had a C64 and were able to play really cool games like Mule!
There were some cool vic 20 games: does anyone remember Amok? Omega race was cool too.
Sadly, I sold my Vic for $20 at a garage sale!
