With that build up, I was expecting much worse for a $4.99 USD consumer device. I've seen some pretty horrible things going on inside so called 'professional' grade equipment. Without seeing the scale on the oscilloscope, it's difficult to judge how bad it really is.

Interesting, thanks. I got Mum a 3rd party replacement power supply for macbook as it was 1/3 price of a real Apple one. It caused a bit of interferrence on the TV, so I'm guessing it wasn't fitted with much filtering either.
