Short story is that our car went infor a WOF few months back and failed due to leaking shock - so got both front shocks replaced. They found front right shock mount was dodgy as well so replaced it as well.
Seemed OK for a while but then started making odd noise on the right hand side whenever we turned left sharply - like a "thunk" followed by bit of a rattle - took it back, they couldnt replicate issue but found another issue with brakes, was causing another noise we had heard (almost like somehting was loose) - brakes worked better and all noises went away again.... for a while.
Now the "thunk, rattle" noise is back (can replicate it every time on one particular corner) and the other noise is slowly creeping back in too, mainly hear it when on rough roads.
Im wondering if the shock mount they put in is stuffed (they did admit it was a 2nd hand one) but they are reluctant to look at it, theyre convinced its something else but have not yet actually dropped the shock out again to check everything.
Anyone got any ideas what it could be ?
Im tossing up wether to take it back to the original shop or bite the bullet and go elsewhere for another opinion to get it done once and for all.
We want to go away in a few weeks but dont want to take the car on a road trip if its making these noises the whole way. (Car has passed another WOF in past 3 weeks and no mention made of any shock/suspension issues)
