Hi guys, just a quick question are they any westies here, who have been to the West Wave Acquatic centre, (I'm not a pervert) I just noticed that the entire building I get 4 to 5 bars of 3G reception. However when I'm in the changing rooms, (Just a habbit of checking my phone frequently) I see that my phone has changed to "Emergency calls only", and I can make buggerall calls. It's just in the mens changing room where it happens. Not sure about the womens, as I'm not a woman. Does anyone know why, and how? As I've looked round the room, and I haven't seen any obvious boxes on the walls or anything, or is it just the way room is built natually blocking out cellphone signals. Thanks

Don't know the place, might just be a lot more building/metal round the changing rooms?

I would say its not a jammer just low coverage

Emergency calls only typically indicates your phone doesn't have signal from your home network, but does have signal from other networks that it can camp on to for an emergency call.

The issue sounds just like a coverage deadspot for your provider.

Anyhow a jammer wouldn't be any good in a changing room unless it can jam the camera as well...

you mean the changing room with THICK CONCRETE walls located in roughly the MIDDLE of the building with more THICK CONCRETE WALLs?

No, it's not a jammer. The same thing happens in the hydrotherapy pool (where you take your little kids for lessons) again because of THICK CONCRETE walls with metal doors.

:( I was trying to point out that jammers are for things like prisons to stop contact with the outside world and would be useless to stop deviants from capturing illicit images in any location.

Exactly, this makes absolutely no sense as you could just save the picture and send it later. It is not possible to "jam" the camera. Also, they would need a license/agreement to do this with all involved carriers. Again, as others have pointed out, if you have "Emergency Calls only" then you do have signal from a different carrier.
